EVANS, Ga. - Armstrong State University freshman forward Jenny Allen was named the Peach Belt Conference's Women's Soccer Freshman of the Year on Thursday evening at the league's annual awards banquet in Evans, Ga.

Allen also earned first-team All-Conference honors and was joined on the All-Conference teams by a pair of teammates - junior defender Taylor Russell earned first-team honors and sophomore midfielder Sarah Olin earned second-team honors.

In her first season for the Pirates, Allen led Armstrong and was ranked third in the PBC with 13 goals scored. The Lilburn, Ga., native is only the second freshman in Armstrong history to reach double-digit goals in one season. Eight of her 13 scores came against conference opponents and she was second in the PBC in scoring in league-only games. Allen had a streak of four straight scoring games and provided points in her last six contests. She finished the year tied for fourth in the PBC in points. Allen is the second Pirate to be named the PBC Freshman of the Year, the first since Kristin Burton in 2006.

When you turn into the parking lot, Building 100 is on your right. Walk up the huge stairway where the flags are. Once you enter the building, go to the right and you will come to a lobby outside of the Board Room. You should meet there by 6:30-6:45 (no later) for 7:00 meeting. I know it is a proud moment and the board loves to see the parents and students at these recognitions. Hope to see you all there.
There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing soccer on Tuesday, September 9th in the Commons. The meeting will be from 2:30 - 3:00.
